About us

The village we wish for ourselves

We are Evelyn from Bern and Alessandro from Zurich, with our three children (born 2021, 2023 and 2026). We have been travelling a lot for more than five years, and full-time since summer 2025. What we were missing: other families and support.

Our story

We wanted to see the world, experience a lot and spend our money on experiences rather than things. We used to travel a lot by camper van during the holidays or spend several months in Asia. Step by step we simplified our lives: from a house to an apartment, and in summer 2025 we gave that up too. Since then a caravan has been our home and our base in Europe. We don’t own more than that today, and that is exactly what sets us free.

Since then we have been to Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy, Mallorca, Thailand and Vietnam. This summer we spent a month cycling through Switzerland with bikes and a tent. Honestly, that pushed us to our limits more than once, but it also showed us how luxurious life in a caravan is, not to mention an apartment. With our children we learn whatever the world has to offer at the moment, following their curiosity. And we learn from them, just as we do every time we reach our limits.

Why Little Nomads Village

Travelling with children is wonderful. But we were often alone with it, too. They say it takes a whole village to raise a child. Our family and friends were far away, so we had to find our village ourselves: people who lend a hand, listen or are simply there. And other families who travel in a similar way. By now we know: many feel the same.

So we are building the village we wish for ourselves. For 10 days, with families like you. We hope for a beautiful, relaxed time together, in which children discover life and parents find connection. Every family can bring something in, and just as well take time for themselves, like in a real village.

Who we are

Evelyn

Evelyn was born and raised in Bern; her mother comes from Isan, the rural northeast of Thailand. Thai was spoken at home, and Thailand has been her second home since childhood. She carries both worlds within her and has taken the best from each.

Evelyn has always followed her heart, in her work too. In the world of coffee she discovered her love for aromas and good food; later she cooked with children in the open air. She has always done what truly inspires her.

Her greatest passion is being a mother. She loves being pregnant and savoured every pregnancy to the very last day. Her home births shaped her deeply and in a wondrous way. She carried her third child entirely on the road, without a permanent home, with check-ups in Vietnam and on Koh Phangan, until the birth in Switzerland. And her babies were already travelling with her at three months old.

Evelyn loves leaping into the unknown and trusts that something beautiful awaits there. She plans with a love for detail and still leaves room for spontaneity. She teaches herself a lot, and in every country she learns the language. Others experience her as patient, warm and grounded. In the village she will show you a Thailand beyond pad thai: how people eat here, which plants grow by the wayside and a few words of Thai for young and old.

Alessandro

Alessandro grew up in Zurich, a curious child full of energy. Hospital stays and operations shaped his childhood. They taught him to appreciate the little things and to enjoy life.

After many years as an IT specialist he dared something new: he worked as a bricklayer, accompanied children at a free school and was self-employed as a somatic companion.

With his first child, the themes of his own childhood came back up. Since then he has been exploring relationships and early imprints, above all for himself and as a father. His goal: to be a sensitive and loving role model. Most of the time, anyway.

On the road he is in charge of everything that rolls, drips or jams. Filling the water tank, emptying the toilet, putting up the awning, getting gas and driving through the night if needed. If something breaks, he fixes it; if there is a breakdown, he finds a solution; and as soon as something works, he is already thinking about how it could work even better.

He loves to experiment, whether with a sleeping bag on a mountain, at bushcraft courses in the forest or with the question of how little you need to live. Whatever grabs him, he wants to understand from the ground up. He doesn’t do things by halves. He sees the big picture and the small details. He finds balance in martial arts and qi gong, gaming, trading or a good film.

What matters to us

Travelling with respect

We meet each other with kindness and openness, young and old. We are grateful to be guests and respect the culture we move in.

Discovering together

The shared moments are the heart of the village. We learn from the world and from each other, and young and old discover new things together.

Protecting children

We don’t show children on social media, neither ours nor yours, and we ask you to do the same. We respect their privacy.
